Chinese Christian Schools offer various After School Music programs to enrich students’ learning. The programs start in September and end in May with two public performances. There is a monthly tuition fee for joining each music program but students who are enrolled full time in the Afterschool Program will receive a 50% discount. Young Swallows
This program is offered as part of our afterschool enrichment program with instructors from "Melody of China", a Chinese ensemble that performs for many Bay Area functions and events. Students may select from a list of instruments which include Butterfly Harp, Erhu, Chinese Table Harp, Moon Guitar and Pipa. Young Swallows has opportunities to perform in public around the community. Students who are in 3rd grade and above are welcome to join the Chinese Orchestra. Students will meet once a week for rehearsal.

Elementary Children’s Choir
Students who love singing are encouraged to join the Afterschool choir. Rehearsals will be held once a week and is suitable for children in elementary school from 1st grade and up.

Beginning School Band/Intermediate band/Advanced woodwind ensemble
Beginning band is for all 4th grade students and up.  This class is for students who are interested in learning to play the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, or percussion.  No previous experience is required. 
Intermediate band is for students that have completed 1-2 years of beginning band.  An audition is required.
Advanced woodwinds is for students that have experience in flute, oboe, or clarinet.  This ensemble is recommended for middle school and high school students.  An audition is required. 

Rehearsals for ensembles will be held one or two times per week.

String Orchestra
This program is for students who are interested in learning to play the violin, viola or cello. There are three different String groups: (1) Beginning Strings, (2) Intermediate Strings, and (3) Advanced Strings, placement will be based on audition. Rehearsals will be held one or two times per week. Students are recommended to rent their instruments for correct sizing.
